Security & trust at SkillSphere

In short

Recruitment is one of the most impersonated industries online. This page explains exactly how a genuine SkillSphere contact looks, the things we will never do, and how to spot and report anyone using our name to defraud job seekers or employers.

How to recognise a genuine SkillSphere contact

Emails end in @skillsphere.uk

Every genuine message comes from an @skillsphere.uk address, such as careers@skillsphere.uk. We never make offers from Gmail, Outlook or lookalike domains.

We don't hire over WhatsApp or Telegram

A real process involves a proper interview. We never run an entire "job offer" through a messaging app or ask you to join a paid task group.

Our website is HTTPS-secured

Everything happens on skillsphere.uk. Check the address bar carefully — scammers often use near-identical spellings to imitate real brands.

A real, contactable UK business

Registered at 45 Tithepit Shaw Lane, Warlingham, Surrey, CR6 9AS, United Kingdom. If something feels off, verify it with us before acting.

SkillSphere will never

Ask a candidate to pay a registration, training, deposit, equipment or "processing" fee.

Request your bank account, card number, PIN or a one-time passcode.

Send you a cheque and ask you to wire part of it back.

Make a firm job offer without any interview.

Pressure you to act "within the hour" or lose the opportunity.

Recruitment scam red flags to watch for

These warning signs apply to any recruiter, not just messages claiming to be us. If you spot one, stop and verify before going further.

Upfront payment requests

No legitimate employer or agency charges a job seeker to be hired. Any request for money is the single clearest sign of a scam.

Personal or lookalike email domains

Offers from @gmail.com, @hotmail.com, or a domain that misspells "skillsphere" are not from us.

Urgency and pressure

"Reply in 30 minutes or lose the role" is a manipulation tactic. Genuine hiring gives you time to think.

Pay that's too good to be true

Very high pay for simple "data entry" or "reviewing products" from home is a classic task-scam lure.

No real interview

A firm offer with no proper interview, or an "interview" held only over chat, is a strong warning sign.

Requests for sensitive details

Being asked for bank logins, card numbers or one-time passcodes early on means someone is after your money, not your CV.

Think you've been targeted? Here's what to do

1. Stop and don't send money or details

Do not make any payment, and do not share bank, card or passcode information. Break off contact with the sender.

2. Tell us so we can act

Forward the message with any screenshots, sender addresses and phone numbers to careers@skillsphere.uk. Reporting impostors helps us shut them down and protect others.

3. Report the fraud to the authorities

In the UK, report to Action Fraud or call 0300 123 2040. If you shared card or bank details, contact your bank straight away.

4. Still unsure it's really us?

You can always verify a message by contacting us directly, and read more about the company on our Is SkillSphere legit? page and our client reviews.

Report a suspected scam
